We have moved past the darkest time of the year: now we move into the light again. This is the part of the year that's full of motivation and promise, a seed of hope and change germinating within us. Some people call them resolutions, a word I think has negative connotations, because the implication is that we'll fail. I chose to look at it differently: maybe I will break down and eat that entire pint of ice cream tonight (let's be honest, I probably will), maybe you'll skip exercise tomorrow, or eat carbs, or have a drink, or swear, or gossip.... whatever your vice is. Maybe we all slip up. It's not failure. We are not perfect. It's the trying part, the wanting part, the hoping... that's what matters. The brilliant thing about life, is that you can always start over. It's not too late. Every day is a new clean slate.
